Artist Emulation

I Covered Laurie Simmons for my artist emulation and what she portrayed in her art was giving life like features to inatimate objects.

My Second Picture is titled "Runaway Bottle" and for this one i added legs to make it seem as if the bottle was running away from something. I made it a little more realistic by using the burn tool to burn a shadow behind him. I believe this one is like Lauries work because she likes giving human characteristics to inatimate objects.

My First picture is titled "Cologne Model" and i thought that the curves just worked to make it kind of have a life like feature. I thought this kind of just works because its not human but makes you think of a person as some of lauries work did.

The Third Picture which is by far my favorite picture is called "Banana Man" Which is a picture of a computer lab with a banana photoshopped into the picture and added arms and legs as if the banana was human with no face.

-What vision or ideas did the photographer want to convey in their photographs?

--Laurie always liked to place stuff in her own way like taking pictures of doll houses and adding different thing that striked her imagination like unique people etc.. She was big into

-What photographic techniques did your photographer use when photographing, developing, and/or presentation?

--She incorporated alot of human charcteristics into her work sometimes they were real people some times they were dolls but most of the time she would give those human characteristics to inatimate objects like putting legs on the end of a gun so it looks like the gun could walk. She also used paper dolls, finger puppets, ventriloqust dummies, and costumed dancers. She trys to portray a eerie dreamlike quality in her work.

-Who or what motivated your photographer to be interested in photography?

-- The media and how they called he a feminist from her subjects of ubjectifying people expecially woman. Media Construction on gender views also pushed her views in photography. Mining child hood memories always effected her work.

-Include information that describes your artist to the audience (your reader). Include biographical information that gives the audience information about the life of your artist.

PART 3 "The Yellow Wall-paper"

When i read the story this is kind of how i pictured the land looking with the pole barns around the house and a little garden well without snow on it. The top picture i took looking out the window of my house and it was kind of suppose to represent her looking out at the world from her room i wanted to put someone out in the yard by a tree or something but no one was home and i needed to get the pictures done.

PART 2 "The Yellow Wall-paper"

I took this picture to symbolize that even though she was locked in her room it was like she was locked up in time. When she was locked up the days went by and she was locked in her room because any activity would strain her and further disable her progress. The clock i believe was the thing that drove her to insanity.

Part One of "The Yellow Wall-paper"

I used these pictures for a few different reasons to start out with i thought that the scrapped walls and the open window looking down could symbolize her looking out and the walls that held the mystery lady in. The picture of the school room was to symbolize the fact that all the kids were the ones that tore at the wallsover the years. and the bottom picture is for the look of the building how i pictured it.

Repulsive #2

"Unknown".... This picture was taken at my friends house in his bathroom where his old sink looks extremely repulsive and something that you wouldn't want to get near. I used color balance on this picture to make it more neutreal. This picture looks repulsive for the fact that its rusted out and has mold growing on the nossles.
