Artist Emulation

I Covered Laurie Simmons for my artist emulation and what she portrayed in her art was giving life like features to inatimate objects.

My Second Picture is titled "Runaway Bottle" and for this one i added legs to make it seem as if the bottle was running away from something. I made it a little more realistic by using the burn tool to burn a shadow behind him. I believe this one is like Lauries work because she likes giving human characteristics to inatimate objects.

My First picture is titled "Cologne Model" and i thought that the curves just worked to make it kind of have a life like feature. I thought this kind of just works because its not human but makes you think of a person as some of lauries work did.

The Third Picture which is by far my favorite picture is called "Banana Man" Which is a picture of a computer lab with a banana photoshopped into the picture and added arms and legs as if the banana was human with no face.

-What photographic techniques did your photographer use when photographing, developing, and/or presentation?

--She incorporated alot of human charcteristics into her work sometimes they were real people some times they were dolls but most of the time she would give those human characteristics to inatimate objects like putting legs on the end of a gun so it looks like the gun could walk. She also used paper dolls, finger puppets, ventriloqust dummies, and costumed dancers. She trys to portray a eerie dreamlike quality in her work.

-Who or what motivated your photographer to be interested in photography?

-- The media and how they called he a feminist from her subjects of ubjectifying people expecially woman. Media Construction on gender views also pushed her views in photography. Mining child hood memories always effected her work.
